Our Coffee is roasted in Oregon and began
in 1985, roasting specialty coffee in the rural hills of Oregon,
just outside Portland.
In the northwest, we value our coffee as a quick retreat from a blustery winter
snowfall or a summer downpour! From these small beginnings we have grown
to a company that ships fresh-roasted, high-quality Arabica coffees to
businesses across the United
States including single-origin, estate,
certified organic, proprietary blends and flavored coffees. Our hot-air roasting ensures clean, consistent roasts in all of our coffees. The roaster is unique in that it uses fresh air to roast coffee rather hot surfaces. The result is a clean uniform roast, free of the smoke and tar contamination found with other roasters. We roast each coffee to its peak shade and flavor so that you can be assured of the best possible taste. The warm beans from the roaster are hand screened to eliminate debris. You will be able to discern the difference hand screening makes in our coffee.
How much is a cup of coffee? Lets break this down: Many coffee
producers recommend starting with 1 tablespoon of fresh ground gourmet coffee
beans per standard 6 ounce cup of water. For a stronger cup, you could add 2
tablespoons per 6 ounce cup. A pound of coffee (or 16 ounces) divided by 1-1/2
ounces comes to roughly 10 pots of 10 cups (6 ounce cups) equalling 100 cups
for the cost of one pound of gourmet coffee beans. At the average of 1-1/2
tablespoons per 6 ounce cup and averate size of 12 ounce coffee mug, you can
expect 50 cups of home brewed coffee per pound of gourmet beans! Our prices of premium gourmet beans are under $12 per pound. This makes a cup of home-brewed gourmet coffee cost about .12 cents per cup. So, you figure it out. That's not bad, even cheaper than a bottle of water. You're worth it and you'll love the taste. Go for it!!
